Welcome

Welcome to the Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (Peach State LSAMP) website. The Peach State LSAMP is a collaborative effort sustained by a coalition of six public colleges and universities in Georgia to significantly increase the number of underrepresented students statewide who complete undergraduate and advanced degrees, as well as have thriving careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. This goal will be accomplished through the implementation of a comprehensive and integrated series of recruitment and retention initiatives that address key transition points from undergraduate recruitment through graduate school completion. The promotion of undergraduate research will be a key component of the comprehensive strategies implemented.

Peach State LSAMP is a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored program with the mission to significantly increase the number of underrepresented minorities pursuing degrees Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Our alliance consists of six institutions, with the University of Georgia serving as the lead institution, Ft. Valley State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University Perimeter College, Kennesaw State University - Kennesaw Campus, Kennesaw State University - Marietta Campus ), and Savannah State University. With a student focus in mind, each institution provides services that assist underrepresented students ub STEM with the transition from high school to college, integrate them socially and academically into the university environment, and engage them in research and summer internship opportunities. In an effort to meet the needs and expectations of the underrepresented minorities in STEM, Peach State LSAMP provides services such as academic en richment, financial support, peer and faculty mentoring, research opportunities, and summer bridge programs.

Peach State LSAMP is Building Bridges to Careers and Opportunities in STEM. We stand ready to help you make your dreams a reality.
